Printing and Batch Printing in V8i

V8i Printer Drivers
When using MicroStation V8i and printing, you will be asked the first time to select a printer driver.  The drivers for V8i are in the following directory:  H:\LIBRARY\Bentley\v8i\PRINTERv8i.  This info has been added to the CAD page of the website under the MicroStation V8i heading.

Print Organizer
A new Getting Started with Print Organizer article has been added under the MicroStation V8i section of the CAD page.  The article goes over the features of Print Organizer, the V8i replacement for Batch Plotting, and discusses how to best use it.

V8i Batch Print
If for some reason you still need to use the Batch Print interface in V8i, you can load it by keying in "MDL LOAD BATCHPLT".  These instructions also have been added just under the Print Organizer article on the design website.

Steel Shapes in Microstation V8i

Another e-mail recently sent around by Ahcene discussed how to load a MDL application into MicroStation V8i which allows users to place steel shapes from AISC as well as other standards.  The instructions for how to do this have been added to the CAD section of the design website - you can find them under MicroStation V8i heading.

Specifying Steel

Recently Ahcene e-mailed around an article from Modern Steel Construction about how to specify steel and what types of steel are available for different shapes and member sizes.  This article has now been added to the Beam-Girder Design, Steel I-Beam and Steel Tub-Girder pages of the website.
